Produced from the highly regarded german porcelain manufactury Hutschenreuther (today a part of Rosenthal), Selb, Bavaria, Germany. First formed in the Victorian / Art Nouveau or Art Deco Period from the famous sculptor Hans Achtziger with the title ‘Ubermutiges Fohlen’ (larking foal). Under the pedestal old Hutschenreuther hallmark used about 1955. This figurine impresses through the stunning details & beautiful soft dapples. Tremendous Figurine, outstanding details, very lifelike situation. ACHTZIGER Hans Achtziger (* 1918 † 2003) was a member of the German “Werkbund” und one of the most influential porcelain modellers in the 20th century. He was the director of the arts department at Hutschenreuther AG from 1961-1964, later on he headed the form studio. Jahrhunderts. 1934-37 Modelleurlehrling in der Porzellanfabrik Lorenz Hutschenreuther AG, Selb. 1937-39 Studium an der Staatlichen Fachschule für Porzellan-Industrie, Selb (heute: Johann-Friedrich-Böttger-Institut) unter Prof. Fritz Klee. 1946-48 Schüler von Prof. Hans Panzer in der Bildhauerklasse der Meisterschule für Bau- und Kunsthandwerker, München.
