It is also the company’s smallest body shape. But don’t let its travel-sized body fool you — this acoustic guitar sounds just like a full-sized guitar. The small body shape is exceedingly comfortable to play, regardless of your dimensions. Moreover, the Companion has a shorter 23.5-inch scale length, which softens the string feel without making the strings flabby. You’ll be pleasantly surprised that Breedlove managed to pack so much sound in such a compact package. The sinker redwood used on these guitars was once submerged in the lakes and rivers of California. That oxygen-free environment makes the redwood lighter and stiffer, allowing the guitar top to sing out with a clear, detailed, and powerful voice. Pairing those tonal attributes with the power and poise of rosewood is a true stroke of genius. The finished guitar delivers an impressively deep tone with a timeless treble sheen. What’s more, each tonewood on this guitar was hand-selected for beauty and the utmost quality.Bespoke appointments customized by Sweetwater Your new Draco Series guitar features numerous custom-spec’d appointments that provide extra comfort and next-level visuals. First, the genuine Honduran mahogany neck features a narrower 1-11/16-inch nut that harkens back to the vintage acoustics produced in Kalamazoo. Next, the ebony fingerboard is loaded with EVO Gold frets, Mosaic fretboard inlays, and eye-catching Red Dino dots. The Red Dino inlays complement the fiery rosette and the old-style Breedlove “B” logo on the headstock. Bloodwood binding and gold hardware tie together the striking visuals.Forward-thinking Sound Optimization process Every Made in Bend Breedlove guitar benefits from the company’s proprietary Sound Optimization process.
