This is a GORGEOUS piece. AND it is heavy at just over THREE and a Half Pounds! The thing that sets our bowls apart is the FINISH. It’s not a “dull wood” finish. We have a special aging wax finish that we apply to all of our bowls. It takes an already distressed bowl and makes it look OLD and WARM and very primitive. And it STAYS that way for the life of the bowl. It is smooth to the touch and it is beautiful (NOT suitable for raw/wet food products like dough as it would degrade the finish). THIS one has carved HANDLES on each end. This is the DEEPEST design Rick does. He sands the bottom down so that it sits nice and flat. Rick distressed and waxed it multiple times with our special bees wax formulation to achieve a wonderfully primitive look. It’s A Multiple layer process. (and therefore NOT suitable for rolling dough in) Measures 19 1/4″ long, 9 7/8″ WIDE. It stands approx. 3 1/2″ to 3 3/4″ tall (depending on where you measure because remember….it’s a HAND carved piece). It weighs just over THREE and a Half Pounds. Nice piece has been carved out of ONE SOLID Piece of wood (Mountain Pine). There WILL be splits and imperfections. We simply smooth them over and then wax and buff them all in to blend beautifully. These trenchers have become Extremely popular in the Interior Design Market as WONDERFUL centerpieces OR catch-alls. Could hold fruit in the kitchen…..any number of uses in any number of Custom Decors. Many designers will use these bowls to compliment whatever holiday it is (decorating them with arrangements, ornaments, fruits or all of the above in colors that reflect the holiday). Then the rest of the year they can simply have any other arrangement. This will ship either UPS or USPS ground depending on the buyers physical location.
