The Pentax KM is what the K1000 should have been. Pentax decided back then to stripped down the Pentax KM and call it the K1000 to export to the USA. The KM and the K1000 share the same internal mechanics and functions but the K1000 lacks the preview and timer function. You are getting a much better camera than the K1000. We created these ready to shoot camera kits to make it easy for people to get into photography.
